Start with the listed material for each component
Some sellers describe the body and head separately. A silicone head paired with a TPE body needs two material descriptions, so copy each one into your comparison sheet. If a listing uses a material label in its title but a different term lower on the page, request a written explanation. Compare the exact option you can order and check whether the retailer names the manufacturer's finish or softness specification.
Compare what you can observe
A close-up can show seams, painted areas and surface texture in the light used for that photograph. Color, visible gloss and apparent softness change with lighting, camera settings and pressure. Ask to see two angles of the same unit, ideally without a beauty filter. For movement, look at joint limits and how the maker supports the body. Surface material alone gives little information about the skeleton or how the unit is balanced.
Ask how the manufacturer expects you to care for it
Use the manufacturer's instructions for cleaning, drying and storage for the particular materials. Ask whether any pigments, adhesives, surface coatings or accessories require special handling. Clarify whether the seller has instructions for the head as well as the body. An accessible maintenance manual or clear support reply gives you something you can refer back to after delivery.
Price the complete configuration
Record the exact finish, head option, dimensions, weight, destination and service terms before comparing costs. Put optional upgrades on separate lines. Two models may share a material and height while differing substantially in frame, supported poses or what ships with the base product. The catalogue examples below illustrate documented material fields you can use to start a comparison.
